Noida News: A major fire broke out in an LPG gas cylinder at a house in Nithari village, Sector-20, late Thursday night. Sosna said it took fire department trucks to finally corral the blaze, after what seemed like an eternity The incident created panic in Nithari village as residents ran out of their homes following rumours of the kitchen gas cylinder explosion.
How the Incident Happened
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey explained that late on the night of May 30, police received a report of a fire in an LPG gas cylinder kept in the kitchen on the first floor of a house in Nithari village, Sector-31. Acting promptly on this information, two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. The firefighters managed to control the blaze, and fortunately, no casualties occurred. The fire took place in a densely populated area.
Previous Incident Resulted in Death
Chaubey added that many people gathered at the scene following the fire alert. Rumors quickly spread that multiple gas cylinders stored in the house were exploding due to the fire. Sector-20 police and fire police calmed the crowd and sent them back to their homes. The incident left the residents of Nithari village in fear for an extended period. Notably, in a previous incident, a gas cylinder explosion during refilling in Nithari village resulted in the death of a shopkeeper.
