June 5, 2024, Haldwani: Akshat Pangariya, a boy from Haldwani, Uttarakhand, has done something amazing. He scored a perfect 720 out of 720 marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical courses. It was his first time taking the exam, and he had been studying very hard for two years. Akshat’s score puts him in the top 99.99 percentile, which means he did better than almost everyone else who took the test.
Akshat lives near the Aryman Vikram Birla School of Learning in Haldwani. He is originally from a village called Patal in the Champawat district of Uttarakhand. His father, Dr. J.B. Pangariya, is a doctor at a hospital in Kichha, and his mother, Sonu Pangariya, is a homemaker. Akshat’s success shows how much he loves studying and how much he wants to be a doctor. He said he wants to work in hospitals in the hilly areas after he becomes a doctor.
When asked about his success, Akshat said, “I did well because I studied by myself every day and got help from my coaching classes in Haldwani. I studied for five to six hours every day, which helped me understand everything really well. My family and teachers also supported me a lot in reaching this goal.”
Nikhil Hadia, the head of Akshat’s coaching classes, said that this is the first time anyone from Uttarakhand has ever scored a perfect 720 out of 720 in NEET. Akshat’s success has made his family, his coaching classes, and the whole state of Uttarakhand very proud. His story will inspire many other students who want to do well in this very competitive exam.
Akshat’s amazing score comes as the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET-UG results on Tuesday. A total of 67 students got 99.99 percentile, and 14 of the top scorers were girls. Overall, 56.4 percent of the students who took the exam passed. The exam was held on May 5, 2024, and 24.06 lakh students had signed up for it.
The NTA will make the merit list using a special formula. They will give preference to students who scored higher in Biology, then Chemistry, and then Physics. If there is a tie, they will give priority to students who have a lower number of wrong answers compared to right answers in all subjects, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Out of the 67 toppers, 11 are from Rajasthan, 8 are from Tamil Nadu, and 7 are from Maharashtra.
Akshat Pangariya’s outstanding performance in NEET-UG 2024 shows how hard work and dedication can lead to success. His achievement makes Haldwani and Uttarakhand proud and motivates many other students who dream of becoming doctors. As Akshat starts his journey to become a doctor, his wish to help people in the hilly areas shows his kind heart and the true meaning of being a doctor. His success story will surely inspire many young students to work hard and chase their dreams.
