BPSC TRE-3: Third Phase Teacher Recruitment Exam Dates Likely to Change

June 3, 2024, Bihar: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced potential changes to the dates for the third phase of the Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE-3). The exam, which was initially scheduled to begin on June 10, is now likely to be held between June 27 and June 30 in a single shift. This change comes after a High Court directive that requires guest teachers to be given an opportunity to apply for the recruitment.

In light of this development, the BPSC has sent a letter to all District Magistrates, requesting them to confirm the availability of exam centers by June 6. The Commission’s Exam Controller, Satya Prakash Sharma, acknowledged that while a previous letter had been sent, the circumstances have now changed. The weightage to be given to guest teachers and related orders from the Education Department will also need to be considered.

High Court Hearing and Its Impact

The potential change in exam dates is due to an ongoing hearing in the High Court, which has currently put a stay on conducting the exams. The court’s decision to allow guest teachers to apply has necessitated a revision of the previously announced exam calendar.

The third phase of the Teacher Recruitment Exam aims to fill a total of 87,774 teaching positions across the state. The exam was initially conducted on March 5 but had to be cancelled due to a paper leak incident.

Exam Centers Across Bihar

To accommodate the large number of candidates, the BPSC has decided to set up exam centers in 26 districts across Bihar. These districts include Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Nalanda, Gaya, Nawada, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Munger, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Khagaria, Banka, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Katihar, Purnia, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Vaishali, East Champaran, West Champaran, Saran, Siwan, and Gopalganj.

Aspiring teachers are advised to stay updated on the latest developments regarding the BPSC TRE-3 exam dates and related information. The Commission is expected to release an official notification once the High Court reaches a decision and the exam dates are finalized.
