Newly Appointed Special Teachers to Receive Fresh Appointment Letters after Sakshamta Pariksha

June 3, 2024, Bihar: The Bihar Education Department is gearing up to issue fresh appointment letters to teachers who have successfully passed the Sakshamta Pariksha (Competency Examination) and will be placed in new schools after the counseling process. These teachers will be known as “Special Teachers” and will be given the status of government employees upon their new appointments.

According to department officials, the counseling process for teachers who have cleared the Sakshamta Pariksha is expected to begin between June 10 and June 15. The counseling will be conducted within the respective districts and is likely to be completed within ten days. The department’s goal is to ensure that all willing teachers are placed in a school within their allotted district by June 30.

Placement Based on Exam Performance

It is important to note that a total of 1.87 lakh teachers have passed the Sakshamta Pariksha and are awaiting placement. The department has already clarified that teachers who have scored higher marks in the competency exam will be placed in schools located in urban areas. In view of this, separate lists of vacant positions in urban and rural schools are being prepared.

The allocation of schools to teachers will be done through a software system. Before the counseling process begins, the lists of vacant positions and teachers will be uploaded to the software in a sequential manner.

Awaiting Guidelines after Election Code of Conduct

According to information received from the department, guidelines regarding the counseling process for appointed teachers will be issued immediately after the end of the election code of conduct. The counseling work had been put on hold due to the lack of approval from the Election Commission during the code of conduct period.

Aspiring teachers who have cleared the Sakshamta Pariksha are eagerly awaiting the counseling process and their placement in new schools. The Education Department’s efforts to streamline the appointment process and provide fresh appointment letters to special teachers are expected to bring much-needed clarity and stability to their careers.
