Poshan Abhiyan 2021
POSHAN Abhiyaan is India’s flagship program to improve nutritional outcomes through technology, a targeted approach and convergence for children, adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers. An online dashboard has been created to show the live and real time performance of Jan Andolan and the data of the same will be entered through the online form and app. The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is implementing POSHAN Abhiyaan in 315 districts in the first year, 235 districts in the second year and remaining districts in the third year.
There are many schemes affecting the nutritional status of children (0-6 years of age) and pregnant women and lactating mothers directly/indirectly. Despite these, the level of malnutrition and related problems remains high in the country. There is no dearth of plans but there is a lack of interlinking of schemes to create synergy and achieve common goal. POSHAN Abhiyaan will try to create synergy through strong convergence mechanism and other components.
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had approved setting up of National Nutrition Mission (NNM) with a cost of Rs.9046.17 crore in the three year budget starting from 2017-18.

Salient Features of National Nutrition Campaign 2021
- POSION Campaign, as an apex body, will monitor, supervise, target and guide the nutritional interventions of the Ministries.

POSHAN Abhiyaan Goals and Implementation Strategy
The implementation strategy will be based on grassroots intensive monitoring and convergence action plan. Poshan Abhiyaan will be launched in three phases from 2017-18 to 2019-20. POSHAN Abhiyaan aims to reduce stunting, undernutrition, anemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) and reduce low birth weight by 2%, 2%, 3% and 2% per annum respectively.
Although the target is to reduce stunting by at least 2%. The mission will endeavor to reduce stunting from 38.4% (NFHS-4) to 25% by 2022 (Mission 25 by 2022).
