A suicide bomber attacked a political rally in Quetta, Pakistan on 2 May 2023. At least 11 people died and over 40 were injured. The blast happened in a stadium parking lot where Balochistan National Party supporters gathered. Balochistan faces ongoing violence. From 1 Jan 2023 until now, over 430 people died in attacks by armed groups in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Next, six soldiers were killed when militants attacked a paramilitary base in Bannu city on 2 May. The 12-hour siege ended after security forces killed six attackers.
