On 27 Aug 2025, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. At least three people died, including a 14-year-old child. Twelve others were injured. Explosions lit up the night sky, forcing many residents to take shelter in subways and underground stations. Kyiv’s air defence was active, shooting down some missiles. Emergency services worked in several districts to help the injured and assess damage to homes. Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, warned citizens to stay in shelters during the attack. The strike damaged residential buildings and caused panic among people. Despite ongoing diplomatic talks, the attacks continue, increasing civilian casualties in the war.
