On 28 Aug 2025, fighting continued in eastern Ukraine. Russian forces attacked near Kupyansk and Velykyi Burluk but made no clear gains. Ukraine reportedly damaged a key oil pipeline supplying Moscow in Ryazan Oblast on 26 Aug, causing a fire and stopping fuel flow. Russian troops also tried to advance near Sumy but did not succeed.
