China's Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou Province passed its final load test from 21 to 25 August 2025. The bridge is 625 meters tall and will be the tallest in the world. Engineers tested it by placing 96 trucks weighing 3,360 tonnes on it. Over 400 sensors checked the bridge for safety. The bridge took three years to build and cost about $283 million. It will cut travel time between Liuzhi and Anlong from two hours to two minutes. The bridge will also boost tourism and local development. It is set to open in September 2025. How to cross the world's tallest bridge will soon be possible in China. (Updated 27 Aug 2025, 14:57 IST; source: link)
