Between 2021 and 2024, Indian nationals in the UK saw a 257% increase in convictions for sexual offences. In 2024, over 100 Indians were convicted for such crimes, up from 28 in 2021. Indians also had a 115% rise in serious offence convictions, with 588 cases in 2024 compared to 273 in 2021. Immigration data shows 293 Indians entered the UK illegally by small boats in 2024, and 206 in the first half of 2025. Indians made up 15% of illegal arrivals at UK ports in the year ending June 2025. During this period, 5,474 asylum applications were made by Indians, mostly from those who entered on legal visas.
