A private school van carrying nine students overturned on a railway track at the Poovanur level crossing near Vriddhachalam in Cuddalore district on August 25, 2025. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which then hit a pole and overturned on the tracks. The injured students, aged between 11 and 15, were immediately rescued by locals and taken to Vriddhachalam Government Hospital for treatment.
