Hurricane Melissa has killed 28 people in Jamaica, the Prime Minister said. The storm hit on Tuesday with very strong winds reaching 185 mph. It caused floods, landslides, and power cuts, especially in western areas like Montego Bay. Many roads are blocked, making it hard for aid to reach people. About 72% of homes have no electricity, and 6,000 people are in shelters. Field hospitals are set up to treat the injured. The hurricane also affected Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. It is one of the strongest storms to hit the Caribbean. Experts say climate change may cause more intense storms in the future. The US had predicted a busy hurricane season this year.
