India and China have agreed to restart border trade through Lipulekh Pass. This happened after talks on 30 Aug 2025. Nepal says the area belongs to it. Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli told Chinese President Xi Jinping about Nepal’s claim. Xi said China does not want to be part of the dispute. He said the issue should be solved only by India and Nepal. Oli will visit India on 16–17 Sep 2025. He is expected to raise the issue with PM Modi too. The border area has been a point of tension between India and Nepal for some time.
