India-China Trade Resumes at Lipulekh Pass

1 min read

India and China have agreed to restart border trade through the Lipulekh Pass. Nepal says the area belongs to it and feels left out. Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli raised the issue with China’s President Xi Jinping on 30 August 2025. Xi said China does not want to be part of the dispute and wants India and Nepal to solve it together. Oli will visit India on 16 and 17 September 2025 to meet PM Modi. He is expected to raise Nepal’s concerns again. The Lipulekh Pass is a key point in the India-Nepal border dispute. Both countries have mostly settled their border issues except in a few places.
