Robert Morris, founder of Gateway Church in Texas, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a girl in the 1980s. The abuse began in 1982 when the girl was 12 years old and lasted two years. Morris resigned as senior pastor last year after the accusations became public. He was sentenced to 10 years, with six months in jail and the rest suspended. He must register as a sex offender and pay ₹2.7 million in restitution. The victim called herself a survivor and spoke about the lasting impact of the abuse.
