Jane Goodall, the famous chimpanzee researcher, died on 1 October 2025 in California at age 91. She was known for her long study of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park. Starting in 1960, she showed that chimpanzees have complex social lives, use tools, and have emotions. Her work changed how scientists understand animals. Jane also worked to protect wildlife and the environment worldwide. She founded the Jane Goodall Institute and was a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
