Two Kenyan human rights activists, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, were abducted by armed men in Uganda while attending Bobi Wine’s campaign event. The incident happened at a petrol station, and the activists were taken to an unknown place. Ugandan police denied holding them, and the army said it could not comment on the case. Bobi Wine, an opposition leader running for president, condemned the abduction and blamed the Ugandan government. Kenyan rights group Vocal Africa also demanded their release. The activists had travelled to Uganda on 30 Sep 2025 and were involved in Bobi Wine’s campaign. Njagi was previously abducted in Kenya last year and later found after a court order. The case raises concerns about the safety of activists in East Africa. How to help: Report any information about their whereabouts to local authorities or human rights groups.
