Anurag Kashyap said Netflix fired the executive who missed the success of Scam 1992. The show was a big hit on SonyLIV. He said Netflix now focuses on easy content to get more subscribers. Kashyap feels Indian shows are compared to global ones and are seen as less good. He praised shows like Sacred Games, Paatal Lok, and Scam 1992 for quality. Kashyap also said Netflix does not understand Indian viewers well. He called Netflix's head Ted Sarandos 'dumb' for his views on Indian content.
