Noida 22 August 2024: In a heartbreaking incident, a 6-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard in a remote village in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. The tragic attack occurred on Tuesday, casting a shadow of sorrow over the local community and highlighting the ongoing human-wildlife conflict in the region.

The attack took place in Rikhnikhal, a village known for its proximity to dense forests that are home to a variety of wildlife, including leopards. According to reports, the young boy, identified as little Boy’s, was playing near his home when the leopard emerged from the nearby forest and pounced on him. Despite immediate efforts by family members and neighbors to rescue him, the boy succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The leopard, which had reportedly been seen in the area in recent weeks, had apparently ventured closer to human habitation in search of food. The local wildlife authorities have since launched a search operation to track down and capture the animal, as well as to assess the situation and prevent further incidents.
