The Uttarakhand government approved the 18-km Pangot-Dechauri motorway in Nainital district. This ₹8 crore project will connect remote villages from Pangot to Kotabag area. The Public Works Department (PWD) received clearance from the forest department and administration. PWD will start road cutting after the official order and tender process. The project, initially approved in 2013, was delayed due to forest land issues. PWD completed 5 km of road cutting and tarring in the first phase. The remaining ₹4.44 crore proposal received approval after the Chief Minister's endorsement. Officials expect the work order soon.
