A police shootout occurred in Shamli's Jhinjhana area on Tuesday night. The Jhinjhana police and SOG team killed a ₹1 lakh reward criminal in Bhogimajra forest. The deceased, Faisal from Muzaffarnagar, was an active shooter of the Sanjeev Jeeva gang. Police acted on a tip about a planned robbery. In the exchange of fire, SOG constable Deepak Nirvan was injured. Police recovered two bikes, two pistols, and cartridges from the scene. One accomplice escaped. Police are searching the forest and conducting raids to arrest the fugitive. Senior officers inspected the site and checked on the injured constable.
