Claims of Vote Theft in Karnataka Assembly Seat

2 min read

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is preparing to make another major announcement regarding his claims of electoral fraud. He has previously held multiple press conferences accusing the Election Commission and the ruling party of manipulating election results. Gandhi first raised these concerns on August 7, alleging systematic vote theft in Karnataka's Mahadevapura Assembly constituency. He claimed over one lakh votes were stolen through duplicate voter registrations, fake addresses, and misuse of enrollment forms. Later, on September 18, he expanded his allegations to include large-scale deletion of voters, particularly targeting Dalits, Adivasis, minorities, and Other Backward Classes. Gandhi accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of protecting those responsible for undermining democracy. The Election Commission has consistently rejected these allegations as baseless, explaining that voter deletions require proper hearings and cannot be done arbitrarily online. Gandhi has promised a bigger revelation, describing his current disclosures as preliminary evidence of a nationwide pattern affecting election outcomes across multiple states.

Claims of Vote Theft in Karnataka Assembly Seat

On August 7, Gandhi presented findings from a Congress investigation into Mahadevapura Assembly constituency, which is part of Bangalore Central Lok Sabha seat. He alleged that 1,00,250 votes were stolen from a total of 6.5 lakh votes. The Congress leader claimed votes were taken through five methods: duplicate voter entries, fake or invalid addresses, multiple voters registered at one address, invalid photographs, and misuse of Form 6 meant for first-time voters. He showed examples including a person named Aditya Srivastava allegedly registered in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Gandhi also cited a 70-year-old woman registered twice within two months. He accused the Election Commission of refusing to share voter lists and CCTV footage, calling it evidence destruction.

Allegations of Systematic Voter Deletions Nationwide

On September 18, Gandhi shifted focus to voter deletions, claiming millions of names were being removed systematically across India. He specifically mentioned Karnataka's Aland constituency, where 6,018 deletion attempts were caught, allegedly targeting Congress strongholds. Gandhi stated the Karnataka Police Crime Investigation Department had written 18 letters over 18 months requesting data on IP addresses, device ports, and OTP trails, but the Election Commission had not responded. He also cited Maharashtra's Rajura constituency, alleging 6,850 fake additions made through automated software. Gandhi demanded the Election Commission release phone numbers, OTPs, and device logs within a week, claiming insiders were now sharing information with Congress about these activities.
