September 21, Noida: An alarming health crisis is unfolding in Noida’s Sector 75, where an illegal garbage dump outside a premium residential society has become a serious threat to children’s health. Despite four months of repeated complaints, the Noida Authority has failed to act, leaving families trapped in a toxic environment.
Doctors have reported a sharp rise in pediatric respiratory cases, with over 60 children suffering from chronic lung problems. Pediatrician Dr. Anjali Sharma warned that the symptoms resemble those seen in industrial zones, not residential areas. Cases of dengue fever have also emerged due to stagnant water around the decomposing waste.
Environmental tests show dangerously high levels of hydrogen sulfide, methane, and ammonia, far exceeding safety norms. Experts caution that long-term exposure could cause permanent lung damage and weakened immunity.
Parents describe a harrowing reality: once-active children now dependent on nebulizers, hospital visits, and restricted indoor lives. The Residents’ Welfare Association has submitted detailed medical reports linking illnesses to the dump, but officials remain silent.
As the waste pile grows daily, families fear for their children’s future, demanding immediate intervention before the situation escalates into a full-scale public health emergency.
