On 28 Aug 2025, a study of 6,960 Australian university students found that 49% use AI tools like ChatGPT to get feedback on their assignments. Students use AI especially when teachers are unavailable or they feel shy to ask questions. While 84% found AI feedback helpful, only 60% trusted it, compared to 90% trust in teacher feedback. AI offers quick, judgment-free responses and helps students ask 'stupid questions' without embarrassment. However, students say AI feedback lacks the depth and context that teachers provide. Half of the students did not use AI for feedback, with 28% unaware it was possible. Experts suggest AI and teachers can work together to improve learning by combining AI’s accessibility with teachers’ expertise. (Updated 28 Aug 2025, 15:17 IST; source: link)
