SaralnamaGoogle will start verifying all Android app developers from March 2026 to protect users from malware and spam. This new rule will apply to apps installed on certified Android devices, including those from outside the Google Play Store. The verification process requires developers to register their identity and apps. It will first be enforced in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand from September 2026, with a global rollout planned later. Google says this will make it harder for malicious developers to spread harmful apps while keeping the Android system open for sideloading and other app stores.
