Users can draft messages and tap a pencil icon to get AI suggestions for rephrasing, proofreading, or changing tone to professional, funny, or supportive. The AI works privately using Meta’s Private Processing technology, so WhatsApp or Meta cannot read messages. This feature is optional and off by default. It is currently available in English in select countries, with plans to expand later. Users can choose to send the original or AI-edited messages. WhatsApp is also testing voice chat with AI for Android users. This update helps users write better messages without leaving the app or using third-party tools.
