Nothing Phone 3, launched in July 2025 in India at ₹79,999, faced a controversy over its camera sample photos. The company used stock images taken by a professional Fujifilm camera from 2023 to showcase the phone’s camera quality in-store demo units. This was confirmed by the photographer and the company’s co-founder Akis Evangelidis, who said these images were placeholders meant to be replaced before mass production. The backend team failed to update the photos, causing the issue. Nothing Phone 3 has four 50MP cameras and is the brand’s most expensive phone in India. The company is investigating the mistake and asking users to share real camera samples. To avoid such issues, companies should carefully check demo content before launch.
