The authors claimed Anthropic illegally downloaded up to 7 million pirated books to train its AI assistant Claude. The settlement ends the case before a trial scheduled for 1 Dec 2025. The settlement terms remain undisclosed but will benefit all class members, said the authors' lawyer.
