Indonesia Summons TikTok and Meta to Control Harmful Content

Indonesia has called TikTok and Meta to act against harmful online content. The government wants them to remove disinformation, pornography, and gambling posts quickly. This comes after false videos caused protests and anger. One deep fake showed a minister saying wrong things about teachers. Some videos also wrongly showed old riots as new. The government warned that platforms must follow rules or face fines, suspensions, or bans. TikTok and Instagram have over 100 million users in Indonesia. Meetings with these companies and others like YouTube and X are planned soon. The government aims to protect people from false and harmful information online.
