A joint committee of the Uttar Pradesh legislature has identified significant irregularities in the doctor recruitment process at King George's Medical University (KGMU). The probe found that out of 108 reserved positions, including backlog seats, only 30 were filled, with many qualified candidates from institutions like SGPGI marked as 'Not Found Suitable.' The committee has requested interview recordings and other documents from KGMU to investigate allegations of a large-scale scam. KGMU has sought permission from the governor's office before releasing these documents. This follows an earlier inquiry by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, which also noted non-compliance with reservation policies. Allegations include rushed appointments favoring non-reserved candidates despite ongoing investigations. KGMU officials maintain that recruitment rules were properly followed.
