A head-on collision between a dumper and a car on the Kota-Udaipur highway in Rajasthan's Bundi district early Wednesday morning resulted in four deaths and four injuries. The accident occurred near the Baba Ramdev temple around 5 a.m. The car, carrying eight people traveling from Beawar to Rajsamand, collided with the dumper about 5 km before the Dhaneshwar toll plaza. Emergency services responded promptly, and all occupants were taken to the Community Health Centre in Dabi; one was declared dead on arrival. The remaining injured were transferred to Kota’s Medical College Hospital, where three more victims, including a woman, died during treatment. Four others, including a one-and-a-half-year-old child, continue to receive medical care. Police confirmed the location and stated that post-mortem procedures will be conducted after families arrive. The accident caused temporary traffic disruption, and authorities are investigating the cause, including possible negligence or overspeeding. Officials highlighted the need for caution during early morning travel due to low visibility and fatigue. (Updated 20 Aug 2025, 12:22 IST; source: link)
