Mahindra has unveiled the Vision T Concept SUV, positioned as the next evolution in the Thar family and expected to enter production around 2027. The concept features a rugged, boxy design with a flat bonnet, six-slat grille, bonnet latches, squared-off arches, exposed door hinges, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. It is built on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ modular monocoque platform designed for SUVs between 3,990mm and 4,320mm in length, with a 2,665mm wheelbase. The Vision T is expected to offer multiple powertrain options including electric with an LFP battery pack, hybrid, and petrol/diesel variants, supporting both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Mahindra claims the platform will deliver best-in-class off-road geometry with superior approach, departure, and breakover angles. The interior concept combines off-road toughness with modern technology, featuring a large portrait touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. The production model will likely have a more restrained design and aims to cater to both Indian and international markets. (Updated 19 Aug 2025, 14:41 IST; source: link)
