Greater Noida, Sep 30, 2025 — The Yamuna Authority has intensified its crackdown on illegal colonies after multiple complaints of fraud by private builders near the upcoming airport.

On Tuesday, a woman from Bulandshahr approached CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh, alleging she was cheated in the name of a township plot promising high returns. Later, she discovered the township had no official approval and its constructions were already demolished by the authority.

The woman showed the CEO brochures and property documents related to the fraudulent deal. Taking serious note, the CEO directed that FIRs be registered against all builders developing unauthorized colonies. A formal letter has been sent to all SDMs in Yamuna City to ensure immediate action.

Officials revealed that more than a dozen brochures and cases of fake townships have surfaced. Builders have been illegally carrying out development work and selling plots near the airport. The Yamuna Authority has been demolishing such illegal constructions on a regular basis.

This move is expected to protect homebuyers from fraud and curb the growing menace of unauthorized private townships in the region.
