Noida, September 27: Customers in Noida have raised serious allegations against Bharti Plywood’s Roshan Shajeev Lakhota, along with leading laminate brands Virgo and Merino, accusing them of unfair trade practices. Buyers allege that once mica laminates and boards are sold, refunds and exchanges are flatly refused, even when products are mismatched or unused. Many complain this has left them with heavy financial losses in an already costly interior market.
One businessman claimed he purchased goods worth nearly ₹1 lakh from Roshan Lakhota, but when he tried to return unsold material, four shopkeepers denied knowing him. Others reported rude behaviour over phone calls, which raised further concerns over professionalism.
Similar complaints have surfaced against Virgo and Merino, two well-known laminate brands, with homeowners and contractors stating that return requests are outright rejected. Customers call it a “scam-like practice” that forces buyers to absorb losses once purchases are made.
Industry experts point out that mica is a high-value product widely used in furniture and interiors, making transparent return policies critical. Without accountability, they warn, customers remain vulnerable to misleading sales promises and financial risks.
Consumer rights advocates have urged authorities to investigate the allegations and enforce stricter fair-trade norms in the plywood and laminate sector. They also advise customers to demand written terms and conditions at the time of purchase, particularly regarding returns and refunds, to avoid future disputes.
