Noida, September 27: Customers in Noida have accused Bharti Plywood’s Roshan Lakhota and mica brands Virgo and Merino of engaging in unfair trade practices. Allegations include refusal to accept returns, misleading sales commitments, and lack of accountability after transactions.
Buyers claim that once mica sheets and boards are sold, refunds or exchanges are completely denied, even in cases of mismatched or unused products. Several homeowners and contractors described this as a “scam-like practice”, forcing them to absorb losses.
In one reported case, a businessman alleged he bought materials worth nearly ₹1 lakh from Roshan Lakhota. When he tried to return unused stock, multiple shopkeepers denied any responsibility. Customers also complained of rude behaviour during calls, raising concerns over professionalism and transparency.
Experts point out that mica is a high-value material essential for furniture and interiors, making proper return policies vital. The absence of clear terms, they say, exposes consumers to serious financial risks in an already expensive market.
Consumer rights advocates have urged authorities to investigate the business practices of Bharti Plywood, Virgo, and Merino, calling for stricter fair-trade enforcement. They also recommend that customers demand written terms and conditions at the time of purchase to safeguard their interests.
