Greater Noida, September 26, 2025: A Greater Noida-based startup, Medixa Global, has developed a digital sedation device that has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). The device, named Welsed Digital Sedation, is designed to reduce the risk of anaesthesia overdose during surgeries and will soon be introduced in hospitals.
The new technology ensures that patients do not feel pain during surgery but can still communicate with doctors if they experience discomfort. It also allows real-time monitoring of a patient’s condition on-screen, making procedures safer and more precise.
The device was recently showcased at the UP International Trade Show under the UP In Startup category at the stall of the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). According to its developer, Dr. Jitendra Singh Parihar, the innovation will make surgeries smoother and safer: “The device blocks pain while allowing patients to share their concerns during the operation.”
Experts say the digital sedation system could significantly improve patient safety by replacing manual anaesthesia management with an automated process. By preventing overdoses and providing constant monitoring, it represents a major step forward in medical technology.
The Welsed device is expected to be adopted by hospitals across the country in the coming months, positioning India as a leader in digital healthcare innovation.
