Noida/Greater Noida: Traffic police in Noida and Greater Noida issued 6,148 challans in a single day during a large enforcement drive.
The highest number of cases were for helmet violations (2,586), while 1,450 challans were for over-speeding. Authorities also seized 14 vehicles that did not have valid documents.
Police officials said the checks were carried out near metro stations, arterial roads, and high-traffic sectors. The move is part of a road safety campaign to reduce accidents and ensure stricter compliance with traffic laws.
Residents have welcomed the action, noting that rash driving and wrong-side movement are common problems in the NCR region. Authorities said regular drives will continue, especially during peak hours.
