Noida Water Crisis Ruins Navratri Celebrations As Taps Run Dry Across City

1 min read

Sep 22, 2025, Noida: Massive water shortages hit multiple Noida sectors on the auspicious first day of Navratri, leaving residents struggling with dry taps just when festival preparations were in full swing.

Affected areas include key residential belts where families were preparing for nine days of religious celebrations. “How can we start Navratri without water for puja and cooking?” asked frustrated resident Sunita Devi from Sector 62. “This is the worst timing possible.”

Sector 50 resident Mohit Sharma said his family had to cancel planned festivities. “We invited relatives over for the first day of Navratri, but with no water, we had to call everything off. It’s embarrassing and frustrating.”

Initial investigations blame supply line disruptions and delayed maintenance work for the crisis. Civic authorities have promised to normalize supplies within 48 hours, but residents remain skeptical.

“Every festival, every important occasion, there’s some civic failure,” said another affected resident. “They need to plan better and stop disappointing citizens during important times.”

The problems have been compounded by increased festival-related water demand across affected sectors.
