June 6, 2024, Noida: In a tragic hit-and-run incident on June 2, Shubham Kumar, a 21-year-old bike rider from Meerut, lost his life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Sector 59 in Noida. The accident occurred around 10 PM within the Sector 58 police station area. Shubham suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to the district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that the unidentified vehicle collided with Shubham’s bike and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured on the road. Passersby immediately informed the police and helped transport the victim to the hospital.
Victim Not Wearing Helmet
Police officials stated that Shubham was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which could have potentially saved his life. The police station in-charge said, “The impact of the collision was severe, and the victim suffered critical head injuries. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a helmet, which could have provided some protection.”
The police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. They are:
- Examining CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) footage from nearby areas
- Gathering information from witnesses to trace the vehicle and its driver
Family Devastated, Demands Justice
Shubham’s family is devastated by the sudden loss of their young son. Vineet Kumar, the victim’s elder brother, expressed his grief and demanded justice. “We want the police to find the person responsible for this heinous act. Our family is shattered, and we won’t rest until the culprit is caught and punished,” he said.
The incident highlights the importance of wearing helmets and following traffic rules to ensure road safety. It also underscores the need for stricter measures to prevent hit-and-run cases and bring the perpetrators to justice.
