A controversy has surfaced at Cloudnine Hospital’s fertility unit in Noida after a patient alleged that a senior IVF specialist promoted a fixed ₹1.65 lakh treatment package without reviewing her previous medical history. The patient, who has requested anonymity, claims she visited the hospital seeking expert guidance after two unsuccessful IVF cycles.

Cloudnine ₹1.65 Lakh IVF Package Controversy

According to her statement, she carried over 30 pages of fertility reports, embryo details, and previous treatment documents, expecting a professional assessment of her medical condition. However, she alleges that the doctor “did not examine the files, did not offer any clinical opinion, and immediately handed over a ₹1.65 lakh IVF plan.” The patient further claims that the package included handwritten price alterations, exclusions, and additional charges that were not clearly explained.

The patient has stated that she asked the doctor for clarity on her past IVF failures, expected success rates, and recommended medical protocol, but “no detailed medical guidance was provided.” Instead, she alleges that the doctor insisted on beginning treatment under the Cloudnine package and discouraged reliance on reports from her previous clinics.

She further claims the doctor did not provide any emergency contact number, after-visit support, or follow-up communication channel, stating that “the hospital does not allow personal numbers on documents.” The patient alleges this reinforced her belief that the conversation focused more on commercial aspects than on medical evaluation.

Legal experts contacted independently note that if these allegations are confirmed, they may raise questions under the NMC Professional Conduct Regulations, 2023, the ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) Act, 2021, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, all of which require transparent counselling, proper review of medical history, and prohibition of commercial pressure in infertility treatments.
