According to the patient, the doctor also did not share any emergency contact number, refused to provide after-consultation communication options, and stated that phone numbers are “not allowed on documents.” The patient claims this left her with no way to reach the doctor for follow-up medical concerns.

The handwritten prescription she received appears illegible, carries no diagnosis, and does not include the doctor’s National Medical Commission (NMC) registration number, which is mandatory under the NMC Professional Conduct Regulations, 2023.

Legal experts familiar with the matter say that the allegations, if verified, could indicate potential violations of the ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) Act, 2021, the Clinical Establishments Act, 2010, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, particularly regarding transparency, counselling, and prohibition of commercial influence in infertility treatment.

The patient has indicated that she is preparing to escalate the issue to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), NMC Ethics Board, District ART Board, and Consumer Court due to the seriousness of the alleged lapses.
