Rajasthan BSTC Pre DElEd 2024: Application Deadline Extended as Record Number of Forms Flood In

June 3, 2024, Jaipur: In a significant development for aspiring primary school teachers in Rajasthan, the application deadline for the highly sought-after Rajasthan BSTC Pre DElEd 2024 examination has been pushed to June 4, 2024. The Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University in Kota, which is organizing the exam this year, made the decision after an overwhelming 5.65 lakh candidates submitted their forms, surpassing last year’s 6.19 lakh applicants.

The two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) program, for which the Pre DElEd exam is a prerequisite, is a mandatory qualification for those seeking to become primary school teachers in the state. This year, in a groundbreaking move, question papers will be printed separately in Hindi and English to cater to candidates’ language preferences. An impressive 98% of applicants have opted for the Hindi medium, while around 2% have chosen English.

Candidates have until June 5 to make corrections to their online applications for a nominal fee of Rs. 50. Post-exam, examinees will be allowed to take home the question paper and a carbon copy of their answers. The selection process involves the written test, consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions, followed by counseling for seat allotment in the 376 DElEd colleges across Rajasthan. These colleges collectively offer about 26,000 seats.

“The huge response to the BSTC Pre DElEd exam highlights the growing interest in the noble teaching profession among Rajasthan’s youth,” remarked Dinesh Sharma, an education expert. “The state government’s decision to conduct the exam in both Hindi and English is a welcome step towards inclusivity.”

A maximum of 5% of seats will be reserved for candidates from outside Rajasthan, who will be considered under the general category and granted admission based on merit. 12th-pass students eager to shape young minds and build a fulfilling career in primary education can apply online at predeledraj2024.in.

As the application numbers continue to soar, the stage is set for a fiercely competitive entrance exam that will determine the next batch of primary school teachers in Rajasthan. Aspiring educators are advised to keep a close eye on official updates and prepare diligently for this life-changing opportunity.
