Over 1.35 Lakh Student Records Still Not Updated on UDISE Portal for 2023-24 Session

June 3, 2023, Bareilly – The 2023-24 school year has been underway for two months, but the records of 135,853 students in the Bareilly district are still pending update on the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) portal. This crucial student data currently sits in the portal’s drop box rather than being fully entered into the system.

The Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) has instructed the Basic Education Department to ensure all student information is properly updated in the UDISE portal no later than June 5th. The UDISE system plays a vital role in tracking and monitoring every pupil enrolled in the district’s schools.

Profiles for each student have already been created and uploaded to the portal. With just a few clicks, officials can access key details about a particular student such as their class, school, and family situation. However, until the pending data is entered, the profiles of 135,853 students do not reflect their current educational status.

If a student has withdrawn from their school, the reason for leaving must be noted in the system. Potential causes include financial issues, the student becoming employed, being orphaned, lack of transportation, or enrolling in an open school instead. The portal must also indicate if the pupil departed without obtaining a Transfer Certificate, and specify if they have moved to a different block, district, state or even another country.

MIS In-charge Randhir Singh Patel confirmed that the data of all impacted students has to be updated in the portal by June 5th. The BSA has communicated this deadline to every Block Education Officer in the district.

The breakdown of affected student records by block is:

  • Alampur: 9,371
  • Aonla: 1,499
  • Baheri: 6,006
  • Baheri Town: 1,629
  • Bareilly Town: 20,521
  • Bhadpura: 4,212
  • Bhojipura: 7,095
  • Bhuta: 6,420
  • Faridpur: 5,316
  • Faridpur Town: 2,504
  • Fatehganj: 5,965
  • Kyara: 5,648
  • Majhgawan: 9,606
  • Meerganj: 5,772

  • Ramnagar: 8,096
  • Richha Damkhoda: 7,416
  • Shergarh: 9,765
  • Bithri: 9,695

Maintaining complete and up-to-date student records in the UDISE portal is essential for effective oversight and decision-making in the education system. The Basic Education Department is actively working to expedite the data entry process and meet the June 5th target.
