Saralnama2.7 kg of opium worth ₹10 lakh was seized by Hazaribagh police. Four smugglers were arrested near Chhadwa Dam in Pelawal OP area. The police acted on a tip-off received by SP Anjani Anjan. A special team led by ASP Amit Kumar conducted the raid. The arrested include Sandeep Kumar, Mohammad Zahid Alam, Mohammad Shahzad from Chatra district, and Manjit Singh from Ludhiana, Punjab. Manjit Singh is believed to be the main supplier. The group was preparing to send the opium to Ludhiana. Police also seized a six-wheeler truck and three bikes. The smugglers admitted to being active in opium trafficking for a long time, with networks across different districts.
