Himachal Pradesh to Set Up 13,000 MW Power Projects

Himachal Pradesh and Bhakra Byas Management Board (BBMB) will set up power projects with 13,000 MW capacity. The ₹65,000 crore project aims to meet energy needs and boost economic growth. BBMB Chairman Manoj Tripathi said construction will be phased. A draft MoU is ready, and a joint committee will oversee the project. The first phase includes two 4,300 MW projects in Bhakra and Pong. Detailed project reports will take 18 months, followed by 5-6 months for work allocation. The target is to complete construction in 4 years. Final approval is expected at the next BBMB board meeting.
