A former deputy chief was shot dead by his brother-in-law near Sai bus stand in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. Sohan Lal was driving when the accused, Suresh Kumar, fired at him around 1 PM. Critically injured, Lal was taken to PGI Chandigarh where he died during treatment. Police say the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute. Kumar fled on a motorcycle after the attack. Lal was hit in the arm and chest. Local residents rushed him to CHC Baddi, from where doctors referred him to PGI due to his serious condition.
