Actor Nia Sharma tried a home teeth whitening hack using baking soda, salt, coconut oil, and toothpaste. She shared a video on Instagram on 25 Aug 2025. Dentist Dr Niyati Arora said baking soda and salt can harm the tooth enamel because they are abrasive. This can cause teeth sensitivity and yellowing over time. Coconut oil may help gum health but does not whiten teeth. Dr Arora advised using dentist-approved products with hydrogen peroxide for safe whitening.
