Weight gain from sugary foods increases stress on the spine, particularly when extra weight accumulates around the abdomen. High sugar consumption is also associated with chronic inflammation, which can aggravate joint and back pain or contribute to arthritis. Additionally, sugary diets often lack essential nutrients needed for healthy bones and muscles.
