A Panchkula youth was cheated of ₹9 lakh by a Punjab agent who promised a New Zealand work permit. Manpreet from Bhagwanpur village wanted to go abroad. In, Mandeep Dhindsa offered to arrange a job for ₹30 lakh. Manpreet paid ₹9 lakh in installments for file fees and processing. Dhindsa showed a fake offer letter, claiming Manpreet had secured a job in New Zealand. Later, Dhindsa stopped responding and gave bounced cheques. Chandimandir police have registered a case and started investigation. To avoid such scams, always verify the agent's credentials and never pay large sums without proper documentation.
