328 Electric Buses Approved for ChandigarhSaralnama

328 electric buses have been approved for Chandigarh by the central government. This will increase the total number of electric buses in the city to 428. The project aims to make travel easier for residents of the tricity area. Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria praised the efforts to gradually replace all buses with electric ones, helping the 'City Beautiful' become carbon-free. The Ministry and Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) have expedited the process for the previously approved 100 e-buses. Old diesel buses of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) and Chandigarh City Bus Service Society (CCBSS) will reach 15 years of service between 2025 and 2027, necessitating their replacement with electric buses.
